Still catching up on conversations. Inspired by conversations around commoning and by deep questions about distributed computing.
I don't (yet) know what it means to make commoning work. The bit I've skimmed, and the questions I've seen in the chat, and the admiration of peers.... there are things here that resonate deeply.
In the past week or two, as I've begun to actually think out loud here in my wiki, I catch the scent of something delicious, I hear a distant ringing of the bells of truth. Want to follow both trails to their sources, or at least far enough to learn what lies just out of sight and see where my senses lead me from there.
CAP theorem says distributed storage can only offer two of these: Consistency, Availability and Partition tolerance. Wiki chooses human-mediated Replication and abandons Consistency. Does a Partition even matter at all for wiki? Ward asks if our distributed computing have a Leak in the Meme Pool?
